TO WASHINGTON DC:
MY BROTHER'S RESIDENCE
After arriving in
DC with a train, I went to my brother's apartment.
Mom arrived in DC
2-3 weeks after I arrived in the States.
This is the time mom
cooked for brother's friends full with the line of food.
Brother, his roommate
(the guy in the grey T-Shirt) and their friends
having dinner while
watching TV.
Sceneries of Georgetown,
the town where his college is in.
Mom driving.
Aunt Sylvie and Uncle
Das, brother's caretaker, sort of.
Brother, Anthony and
mom in front of an April Cornell store in Georgetown.
Left to right (front): Me, Alex, mom and Aunt Margie.
Behind us were my brother Anthony and Uncle Bill, Aunty's husband.
A scenery from a part
of Georgetown.

Me, mom and bro with
a round of Thai rummy.

Union Station, the
train station in Washington DC.
Me and mom on our
way back to Manhattan on bus, and this was the view we got
from our window when
we got a flat tire. What a wonderful summer day ...

BACK TO MANHATTAN
The view of Manhattan
from our bus coming into the city from the Uptown area.

Mom in the West Village where our temporary rented apartment was in.
An interesting mural on a fire garage entrance in the West Village.
After 9/11 you'll see a lot of heroic-themed murals on many fire places.
The neighborhood where I used to live, this is a block away from my old apartment.
Nothing much has changed here, except now there is an awesome Chipotle here.
Chipotle is a fast-food Mexican place that is just GREAT! Not junky but pure greatness!!
Broadway Street, the place where I used to hang out in.
Even Tower Records is still there.
Left to right: Didi, Mom and Peggy on Broadway. On our way to dinner in
Chinatown. A lot of times we would just walk all the way downtown to get there.
One thing that you cannot do in Jakarta T_T
The hustle and bustle of Canal Street, the main road of Chinatown.
Always crowded as I remember it in the past.
A part of Chinatown, the turn to Bayard St on the right hand side.
Peggy and Didi, her younger brother.
Chinatown by night.
Us in fronf of the famous Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, one of the famous
landmarks and tourist spots. They are known for inventing new exotic
ice cream flavors, like Wasabi, Ginger, Longan, Lychee, Pumpkin Pie
(miss this one!!), and etc.
Us inside the Grand St Chinatown subway station.
